The major differences between these three coloring materials will be in terms of production techniques and color rendering.
Soft Enamel,in general speaking,it has a similar color render to Synthetic Enamel but color zones recess and lower than metal borders.Metal borders are easy to define.
Normally the material for a soft enamel pin would be bronze,iron or zinc alloy and among these,bronze is the most widely used material however cost highest,so zinc alloy is getting more popular than bronze because it not only can help cut down 30% unit cost but also very flexible material to achieve detailed or 3D looking. If you are looking for a most economic one,then iron is the good options.
Soft enamel pin is also widely used as trading pin or group pin or collective pins,the process to produce soft enamel pin is only few steps more than a struck pin.
So the first step to make an enamel pin is stamped to produce the recessed areas or ridges needed to contain the relateively free-flowing enamel(think of filling up a shallow pool)then the shaped pin will be plated with one of our metal finishing such as gold,nickel,copper or antique finishning or rainbow or black nickel etc. after that,enamel paint will be filled.
Lapel pins with soft enamel can be also finished with glitters and epoxy dome afterwards. Glitters could make the pin shiny and the epoxy could protect the pin and make a smooth surface.
